  • I took this pack on a backpacking trip to the Great Smoky Mountains last weekend, and it did everything I needed it to do. It has plenty of space as long as you're an experienced packer who doesn't carry gear you don't need. It has a nice sized main compartment that closes with a draw string, and a large lower zippered compartment where I stored my sleeping bag. The top cover has two zippered compartments (one on the outside back part, and one on the inside of it). The bottom sleeping bag comparment also has a zippered comparment within it. There are plenty of attachment points for straps, which came in handy for strapping my tent on. I used the side compression straps to secure my tent poles.I like the small zippered compartment on the hip belt. It was good for holding my flashlight, pocket knife, chap stick and lighter. The pack was plenty rugged, and I got a lot of comments from the other hikers in my group about what I nice pack it was.It really is fully adjustable, and once you figure out how to adjust it for your body, it sits well and feels comfortable. There is a great page on the Guerilla Packs website that explains how to adjust it properly. Very helpful. There are a couple of changes I would suggest to the manufacturer: The buckle for the hip belt is a bit flimsy, so I replaced it with one that is made of thicker plastic. Not a big deal, and the original one might've been fine, but I don't take chances on stuff like that. I kept the original one for a back up, in case someone in my group breaks one. The other suggestion is that an integrated pack cover would be great.Delivery was quick (less than a week), and what I got was better than what I expected for the $65 dollars I spent. If I'd had the extra money, I would've gone with the Asalto since it has more exterior pockets, but I was able to do fine with what the Furia has, and it fit into my budget. Good pack. Highly recommended.

  • What I like about this pack: Price, fitting options, comfort, color, integrated rain fly. What I don't like about this pack: Hip belt's a little snug and difficult to adjust to fit me properly. Of course, that could be because I'm more than a little bit overweight (6'2" ~300#). I'm not exactly crazy about the lack of daisy chains and other anchor points on the outside of the pack either. I haven't used it on a proper outing yet, just to pack my tent, sleeping bag, and air mattress across campus for a prayer vigil and I've tossed it in the trunk of my car for trips to my parents' a couple of times. Admittedly, part of my problem may be that I haven't backpacked much since high school and have probably forgotten how to pack. All in all, it's a pretty good pack, though the packs I have to compare it to are the 1980s vintage Jansport external frame that I borrowed to use at Philmont and a Kelty Comal (which I discovered was a women's pack about a year after I bought it from Academy).
